My wife and I stopped here for the first time. It has a rustic and clean decor. The staff were very pleasant. The food was great and fast to the table. We enjoyed the bowl.
I love the rustic energy in here. Staff was super courteous and hospitable. Food was on point. You can't ask for more when you come here. We got the Russell salad - has chopped brisket, arugula, goddess dressing, olives, onion, tomato, and a piece of rosemary on top for the aromatics. Great touch. We literally devoured the entire bowl and didn't leave anything. Staff recommended the voodoo chips and we appreciated this amazing recommendation. It honestly complimented the salad extremely well. They have a whole bunch of soups, salad sandwiches that when we looked at the tables, we were like "we gotta try that next!" We got glass of Chardonnay, which was actually smooth and strong. Exactly what you want from a white wine. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for fresh ingredients, great service, and a good time. Thanks, back to corporate work The Russell!
Stellar lunch spot! The inside is rustic and cozy with plenty of seating available inside and a handful of tables outside as well. Order out the counter and get a vintage license plate to let staff know where to bring your order. The salmon bowl was amazing - all fresh ingredients and the salmon was cooked perfectly. They have a great dessert selection as well - I resisted this time, but can't wait to come back and try a few!
Food: Tasty, seasoned and well balanced. I ordered the salmon salad bowl and also a slice of carrot cake. I loved the presentation but be careful when eating bc the bowl almost flipped over lol. Service: Kind, quick and helpful. This is an order at the register, sit down and they will bring your food type of restaurant. Staff were kind and cleaned up very fast. Ambiance : High end, rustic, chic. Very instagram-able and cute for pictures. Cute for a first date or girls lunch. The bathroom especially was super cute. I would love to come back.
Words cannot do this place justice. My co-worker and I travel 1-3 times a week and I have been to several countries and nearly every state & major city in the USA. This burger changed my life. This is the single greatest burger ever. It dethroned the mac & cheese burger I had in Korea in 2017. My co-worker said his brisket sandwich is the best he's ever had as well. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The ambience is casual and just a good time. If you find yourself local. COME HERE AND TRY THE RUSSELL BURGER!!!
Cute little spot located in between the Crossroads and Plaza area. Perfect for lunch dates, meetings, solo dining- you name it. Honestly it was hard choosing just one item from the menu because it all looked and sounded so good. We ended up choosing the crispy chicken cobb salad and the chicken sandwich. Both excellent. Chicken was crunchy and salad was perfectly dressed with all the different textures you would want in a good salad. The chicken sandwich was so juicy and moist, smeared with delicious aioli. For dessert we couldn't pass up the oatmeal pie, aka "whoopie pie". All the food was excellent! 5/5 stars. Perfect for that "I'm feeling a salad/sandwich kind of meal", but in an elevated way.
Beautiful interior, healthy and not so healthy options. The star of the show is definitely the food. It was obvious that every plate was thoughtfully prepared with the perfect combination of flavors, spices and herbs. Absolutely delicious and possibly one of my top favorite Kansas City lunch places. The steak and greens was amazing with roasted vegetables, fresh dressed greens and tender thinly sliced steak. We finished it off with the dessert of the day which was carrot cake and it was plenty for three people to share. Not too sweet, layers of moist cake and cream cheese frosting. Scrumptious!
This is one of my fave spots in the city. I popped in with a friend from out of town for a late lunch. It's always on point- the service, ambiance and food. This restaurant uses local ingredients so the menu changes often. One of the things I really like about this place is that you have lots of healthy options. And you can get an adult beverage with your meal. Gluten free and vegetarian options available. If you have a sweet tooth, you must save room for dessert. The item I'm crushing on now is the mushroom toast. OMG - it's incredible. The types of mushrooms change depending on the season but they are so meaty, tender and flavorful. And the truffle cheese takes it up another notch. My friend didn't like ricotta but she loved the toast. I could eat it every day. I'd go back everyday just for the mushroom toast. They also offer Sammy's, salads, full entrees (rack of lamb & ribeye), soups and a kids menu. Tip: it can get pretty busy during the lunch hour. And they do not take reservations.
I love the food here. It's warm, nourishing, comforting, satisfying, it's all the things. Roasted veggies and perfectly grilled meat, the chicken is so tender and juicy. The food is an absolute must try but as much as I love the food, I love the space as well. This place reminds me of someone's rustic vacation cabin nestled in the mountains. Every time I walk in I'm immediately enamored with the smallest details of the decor and completely forget I'm in the city. Sitting down for lunch with a friend feels familiar and cozy. It's not sterile and doesn't feel like a restaurant, it feels like a retreat. It's the sort of place that draws you in and beckons you to linger...and visit the dessert counter.
